Olivia & Matthew’s Rainy Danversport Wedding
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck—“a wet knot is stronger than a dry one.” If that old saying holds true, then Olivia & Matthew’s marriage is off to an incredibly strong start.
Their wedding day began in two meaningful places: Olivia and her bridesmaids got ready at the beautiful Beauport Hotel Gloucester, while Matthew and his groomsmen spent the morning together at his family home in Peabody. There was a calm excitement in the air as everyone prepared for what was sure to be an unforgettable day.
The couple chose not to do a first look, wanting to save that once-in-a-lifetime moment for the ceremony—and it made their walk down the aisle even more emotional. Before heading to the venue, Olivia shared a few incredibly special moments with the people closest to her, including a sweet reveal with her mom and sisters and an emotional first look with her dad that had everyone reaching for tissues.
Their ceremony at Danversport was heartfelt and deeply personal. Officiated by Olivia’s aunt, it felt especially intimate and meaningful. Surrounded by nearly 200 of their closest family and friends, Olivia and Matthew exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony filled with love, laughter, and more than a few happy tears.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour complete with signature drinks, delicious appetizers, and plenty of celebration. Despite the wind and rain, the couple embraced every part of the day—and when the weather gave us a brief pause, we took full advantage. We snuck outside for family portraits and some beautiful newlywed portraits before moving indoors as the rain picked back up.
Inside, the reception space was elegant and timeless—simple white and gold details, delicate baby’s breath centerpieces, and a stunning five-tier cake that made quite the statement. It was the perfect backdrop for an evening that felt both classic and full of personality.
The reception began with a beautiful first dance before Olivia shared a sweet dance with her dad. Heartfelt speeches from one of Olivia’s sisters and Matthew’s brother brought laughter, tears, and so much love into the room. Then came one of my favorite moments—the cake cut. This wasn’t just any cake cut; Olivia and Matthew leaned all the way into it, digging into their enormous cake with huge smiles and giving us the perfect photo opportunity.
To officially open the dance floor, we gathered every single guest for an epic group photo with the couple—a fun and energetic way to kick off the party. From there, the celebration only grew louder. The dance floor stayed packed all night, including an unforgettable conga line that wound its way through the room and had everyone laughing and joining in.
As if on cue, the rain paused once more later in the evening, giving us another chance to sneak outside for a few more portraits of just the two of them. Those quiet moments away from the celebration felt especially magical—just Olivia and Matthew, soaking in their very first hours as husband and wife.
Back inside, the night held one more surprise: Olivia shared a special dance with her mom, a sweet and unexpected moment that was as emotional as it was beautiful. It was the perfect reminder of what the day was truly about—love in all its forms.
Olivia and Matthew are the kind of couple who make you feel lucky to do what you do. Their love for each other is easy, genuine, and full of joy, and it was such an honor to be part of a day that reflected that so beautifully. Rain and all, their wedding was unforgettable—and I have no doubt their marriage will be just as beautiful as the day it began.
