Romance by the Sea: French Garden-Inspired Wedding Editorial at Aldrich Mansion

This spring, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the 2nd annual editorial wedding styled shoot hosted by my dear friend and talented "work wife," Brianna Graca. As a New England Wedding Photographer, I find myself constantly inspired by the unique beauty this region has to offer—and this editorial at the historic Aldrich Mansion in Rhode Island was nothing short of magic.

Together with Charity of Charity Lynn Weddings, Brianna meticulously planned every detail of this French garden-inspired editorial. From the moment you stepped onto the mansion grounds, you were transported to an oceanside dream, layered with elegant florals, old-world charm, and thoughtful wedding day details.

We were also lucky to have guest speaker Colton Simmons, who kicked off the day with an inspiring talk, sharing a wealth of industry insight that helped set the tone for the creativity to come. One of the most exciting elements of this editorial was its structure: each photographer group had their own couple and rotated through curated stations. It truly mimicked the natural flow of a real wedding day—allowing us to capture everything from the first look and first dance, to a stunning getaway car moment in a classic Rolls Royce.

The spring color palette was soft, romantic, and perfectly suited for the coastal mansion setting. Imagine whimsical floral installations, French-inspired tablescapes, and elegant invitation suites. There was even a live painter, a string quartet, multiple wedding cakes (because why stop at one?), and a first for me—an oyster tower! We also had a flat lay station filled with delicate European details, making it a true paradise for content creation.

One of my personal favorite moments was photographing an absolutely breathtaking solo bride. Her gown—with a cape draped elegantly over her shoulders—sparkled in the soft light, highlighting her stunning blue eyes and effortlessly regal presence. It was the kind of bridal look that stops you in your tracks, and I feel so lucky to have captured it.

Styled shoots like these are an incredible way to push creative boundaries, work alongside other amazing New England wedding vendors, and stay inspired. Although this was a styled editorial, it serves as a genuine representation of my work as a Boston wedding photographer, and the level of artistry you can expect when you book me for your special day.

If you're planning a New England wedding and are looking for timeless, editorial-style photography with heart and intention, let’s chat! This editorial is proof that elegance, emotion, and storytelling can come together in the most magical ways—especially by the sea.
