I first met Baylee & Ethan (and their gentle giant of a Great Dane, Skyy) during their engagement session last summer. From the start, I knew these two were going to be a joy to work with—they were adventurous enough to walk out onto the sandbars for some incredible shots. Skyy was right there with us, towering above the shallow water (and thankfully tall enough not to need a piggyback ride!).

Baylee & Ethan are close friends with another sweet couple whose wedding I photographed last year—Amber & Carson—so it was extra special to see familiar faces in the wedding party this time around. Their big day was held at the historic Burr Mansion in Fairfield, Connecticut, a venue overflowing with charm in every corner. One of my favorite touches was seeing their engagement photos displayed throughout the mansion—on the mantle, in framed displays, and even at Skyy’s very own “Biscuit Bar” table stocked with treats for guests to take home to their own pups.

Getting Ready

The morning with Baylee and her bridal party was pure magic. The bridal suite was styled to perfection with dusty blue accents and chinoiserie details that tied into every part of the day—from the invitation suite to champagne bottles wrapped in blue. Bridesmaids’ dresses hung neatly on custom hangers, each with a personalized tag noting their name, wedding title, sweet descriptors, and the year and place they met Baylee. Even the champagne glasses had personalized blue ribbon name tags.

The girls laughed through matching pajama photos and a mimosa toast before Baylee’s mom and sister helped her into her stunning gown. A thoughtful necklace gift from Ethan brought happy tears, and her sister helped her clasp it on before she shared a first look with her dad, gifting him something special as well.

Meanwhile at the mansion, Ethan and his groomsmen enjoyed a relaxed start to the day—whiskey and cigars on the front porch—after he opened a meaningful gift from Baylee.

The Ceremony

In the backyard of Burr Mansion, under a sprawling old tree, Baylee & Ethan said “I do” surrounded by their loved ones—and, of course, Skyy, who proudly walked down the aisle with Baylee’s mom. Their vows brought laughter, tears, and big smiles, and before long they were officially husband and wife.

Couple’s Portraits

After family formals and wedding party fun, we stole Baylee & Ethan away for some intimate newlywed portraits while guests enjoyed cocktail hour. They also chose to share private vows on the mansion’s front porch—a beautifully quiet moment in an otherwise joy-filled, busy day.

The Reception

The reception took place under a bright white tent in the backyard, brimming with floral touches that echoed the day’s design. After first dances and heartfelt toasts, the dance floor came alive thanks to an incredible band/DJ combo—one singer even rolled across the dance floor mid-performance, mic in hand!

Midway through the night, Baylee slipped away for an outfit change into a chic mini dress. When she returned, Ethan’s jaw dropped, and they kept the energy going, dancing their hearts out until cake cutting pulled them away for just a moment—then it was right back to the party.

A Perfect Day

This was hands-down one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever photographed. Every moment was seamless thanks to the amazing Colleen and her coordination team. Every vendor brought their A-game, and together they made Baylee & Ethan’s vision come to life.
