Anna & Giacomo’s Colorful Summer Wedding at Floriana in Ipswich, MA
Anna & Giacomo’s wedding day at Floriana in Ipswich, MA was nothing short of magical. This 120-year-old Georgian-style mansion is a hidden gem on the North Shore, and this was our first time photographing here—we were blown away by its elegance and charm. The mansion is flooded with natural light, making it an absolute dream for wedding photography.
Getting Ready in Style
The bridal suite at Floriana was everything a photographer hopes for—bright, airy, and filled with character. Anna and her bridesmaids got ready in champagne-toned dresses, while Anna stunned in a sleek, elegant gown paired with playful floral heels. Her first look with her bridesmaids was emotional and heartwarming, setting the tone for the day.
Meanwhile, Giacomo and his groomsmen kept things cool in their suite, sharing laughs and drinks before the big moment.
The First Look
Anna and Giacomo shared their first look on the shady side of the mansion, with the historic façade as their backdrop. Anna descended the staircase, her gown flowing behind her, veil adorned with delicate pearls, and bouquet bursting with summer color. Giacomo looked sharp in his tux, complete with a stylish pocket boutonnière. Their private moment was so sweet—though their bridal party couldn’t resist sneaking a peek from the upstairs windows!
Portraits & Ceremony
Before the ceremony, we took full advantage of Floriana’s lush grounds for portraits. The bridal party looked amazing with their champagne dresses and vibrant bouquets—such a perfect contrast!
The ceremony took place on the back lawn under a wooden arbor adorned with bright, whimsical florals by Pepper & Fern Floral Design. One of the most unique touches? Individual roses rising from the grass along the aisle—such a creative detail! There were laughs and tears throughout, especially when the officiant almost forgot about the rings in his excitement to pronounce the couple husband and wife.
Reception Under the Tent
After the “I do’s,” we captured a few final portraits in front of the mansion’s iconic columns before Anna and Giacomo joined cocktail hour. Guests mingled indoors and out while the reception tent came to life.
The décor was stunning—white linens paired with bold, colorful floral arrangements by Pepper & Fern. It was vibrant, whimsical, and perfectly reflected Anna & Giacomo’s fun, joyful personalities.
As golden hour sunlight filled the tent, the reception kicked off with heartfelt speeches from Anna’s dad, the Maid of Honor, and Best Man—there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. After dinner, Anna and Giacomo shared their first dance as husband and wife, followed by an emotional father-daughter dance that had everyone reaching for tissues.
Sunset Portraits & Dancing the Night Away
As the sun began to set, we whisked Anna and Giacomo out to the back lawn for a few more portraits. The golden light paired with the elegance of Floriana’s grounds was pure magic—these moments are always some of my favorites on a wedding day.
After portraits, it was time to head back under the tent and celebrate! Big City Band brought the energy all night long. Their lead singer even jumped into the crowd when things slowed down to get everyone back on the dance floor. Although Giacomo’s brother mentioned in his Best Man speech that he’s “not much of a dancer,” we definitely caught him letting loose with Anna and their guests!
It was such a joy to work with this incredible couple and their amazing family and friends. Anna and Giacomo’s wedding day was a perfect blend of elegance, fun, and heartfelt moments. And Floriana? Absolutely stunning—with a staff that made everything seamless. We can’t wait for the opportunity to capture another wedding at this gorgeous Ipswich venue!
