Emily & Brendan | A Heartfelt Hardy Farm Wedding in Fryeburg, ME

Some wedding days just feel extra special—Emily and Brendan’s was one of those days.

I first met this amazing couple last year when Brendan planned a surprise proposal at Duxbury Beach. Not only did he secretly book me to photograph the big moment, but he teamed up with Emily’s sister to pull off every thoughtful detail. She even packed multiple outfits for Emily, a bottle of champagne, and a handwritten note—just in case she said yes (spoiler: she did!). From the very beginning, I was smitten with these two. Emily is pure sunshine—bubbly, sweet, and so full of joy. And Brendan? A true romantic. His love for Emily radiates in every gesture.

Fast forward to July 26, 2025: it was finally time to make it official.

Emily and Brendan chose a traditional wedding timeline, waiting to see each other until the ceremony. I absolutely love when couples opt for this—there’s something so special about that moment of first sight at the altar. The morning was filled with anticipation, laughter, and sweet, quiet moments as each side got ready with their closest people.

Brendan and his groomsmen had a blast with portraits—some classic, some goofy, all perfectly capturing their bond. The ladies looked stunning in mismatched dresses in soft coordinating hues, carrying white bouquets that perfectly complemented Emily’s vibrant floral arrangement. Emily’s dress, detailed with delicate lace florals, was the perfect blend of elegance and whimsy.

Their ceremony took place in a dreamy wooded nook on the Hardy Farm property, just over a footbridge, in front of a simple wooden arbor draped in flowing fabric. Brendan had even recorded a piano piece that played as Emily walked down the aisle—cue all the goosebumps. Their personal vows had everyone in tears, myself included.

While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we took family and bridal party portraits in front of Hardy Farm’s lush green backdrop. The shades of blue from the dresses and navy suits looked incredible in that setting. Then it was time for some romantic portraits of the newlyweds—complete with a classic white Rolls Royce, golden-hour light in the gardens, and the cozy charm of the farmhouse porch.

The reception was held under a beautiful white tent nestled in greenery. After Emily and Brendan’s first dance, guests were treated to speeches that were equal parts hilarious and touching—especially the Best Men and Maid of Honor, who had everyone both laughing and crying. The parent dances brought more emotional moments, followed by an epic dessert table that included cake pops, cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, and a small cake for the couple to cut together.

As the evening wrapped up, the dance floor came alive. We spent the final moments of the night dancing, singing, and capturing all the fun that comes from a group of people who love each other deeply.

Hardy Farm was the perfect setting for this magical day, and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of Emily & Brendan’s journey—from a surprise beach proposal to their unforgettable Maine wedding.

Wishing the new Mr. & Mrs. Smith all the happiness in the world as they start their next chapter in Chicago!
