Singing in the Rain Editorial at The Hacienda

Every spring, I look forward to one of my favorite creative traditions—an editorial event dreamed up and flawlessly executed by my dear friend Brianna Graca Weddings and Charity Lynn Weddings. When these two come together, the result is always something extraordinary—but this year felt especially unforgettable.

In years past, their spring editorials have leaned into soft colors and playful energy. This year, they took a bold new direction: sleek, sophisticated, and timeless. A chic black-and-white palette. Elevated design. Romantic details. And a theme that tied it all together beautifully—Singing in the Rain.

Hosted at the stunning The Hacienda, this luxury New England wedding editorial featured multiple styled stations, including four model couples, an editorial bride, a flat lay station, a custom ceremony setup, an editorial backdrop, and a jaw-dropping clear-top tent installation. Every corner of the estate was transformed into an immersive wedding-day dream.

A Powerful Start: The Panel Discussion

Before cameras came out and creativity began, the day opened with something deeply meaningful—a panel discussion featuring three incredible women and leaders in the wedding industry.

As I walked into the room, vintage romance films played softly across the walls, mixed with intimate wedding clips from Brianna’s own life. It was emotional from the very beginning and such a beautiful reflection of the heart behind these events.

Brianna opened the morning with a heartfelt speech about why she became a wedding photographer—sharing stories of love she has witnessed through generations of her own family, from her grandparents to her own marriage. It was moving, personal, and a reminder that this industry is about so much more than beautiful photos—it’s about preserving legacy and connection.

The panel featured:

  • Alicia Daw, a destination wedding photographer and strategic mentor whose work is rooted in storytelling and emotional connection.

  • Paula Marrero, founder of Marrero Events and an industry leader known for her precision and refined design aesthetic.

  • Chelsea McNamara, founder of Everthine Bride and Covet Bridal, who shared thoughtful insights on branding, intentionality, and creating exceptional client experiences.

We talked about the evolving wedding industry, leading with intention, and how to thoughtfully market to the next generation. It was insightful, inspiring, and honestly the perfect way to begin a creative day.

The Tent: Black, White & Absolute Perfection

The centerpiece of the editorial was an unforgettable clear-top tent—a true showstopper.

Inside, a glossy black dance floor anchored the space while dramatic black-and-white serpentine tables curved elegantly through the room. Each place setting featured a miniature umbrella as the menu—such a clever nod to the theme—and endless candlelight added warmth and romance.

Above us, chandeliers glowed beneath the clear ceiling while soft white draping moved gently in the wind, creating an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and effortless. Delicate lace details appeared throughout—from the tabletop linens to the bar styling—bringing softness to the sleek design.

Outside the tent sat symmetrical lounge spaces—black velvet on one side, white velvet on the other—framing the tallest wedding cake I’ve ever seen, adorned with florals at its base like a work of art.

Our first model couple brought the space to life beautifully. The bride wore an exquisite gown with a subtle lace slit detail that perfectly echoed the romantic styling around her. They danced beneath the chandeliers, toasted at the bar, and moved through the space like it was their own wedding day.

And all the while, Ariana Strings performed live—standing elegantly on a pedestal in a black gown, filling the tent with romantic violin music. It was pure magic.

Poolside Editorial Moments

Outside by the pool, the editorial bride posed effortlessly among floating clear umbrellas filled with florals—one of the most whimsical details of the day.

She stood framed by towering floral pillars, her gown moving beautifully in the breeze, creating portraits that felt both fashion-forward and timeless.

Nearby sat a playful surprise—a boozy scroppino cart—adding a fresh, unexpected touch to the luxury styling and reminding everyone that weddings can be both elegant and fun.

Flat Lay Heaven

Upstairs, photographers were treated to a beautifully curated flat lay station.

There were black-and-white invitation suites in a range of styles—some sleek and modern, others romantic with lace detailing—paired with heirloom accessories, ribbons, jewelry, and endless styling possibilities.

For detail-loving photographers like me, it was a dream.

Capturing Real Love

One of my favorite stations featured a real-life couple—and their chemistry made every frame effortless.

We began in the master suite, documenting “getting ready” moments that felt intimate and genuine before stepping onto the estate balcony for some dramatic portraits.

Later, we brought them back into the tent for playful dance floor moments and cozy bar scenes. Their affection was natural, joyful, and completely contagious. As a photographer, those are the moments you live for—the kind where love does all the work.

The Editorial Backdrop

At the front of the estate, flowing draped fabric created a minimalist editorial backdrop while soft Frank Sinatra played from a nearby record player—a subtle but perfect touch.

The models absolutely owned this station.

Our editorial bride stunned in a modern two-piece lace gown before our groom joined for elegant, timeless portraits that felt straight out of a magazine.

And because I couldn’t help myself, I stole one final moment in a nearby cherry blossom tree—adding a soft pop of pink to an otherwise monochromatic gallery.

A Romantic Ceremony Scene

The final station was a ceremony setup that felt timeless and intentional.

Rows of black chairs lined a floral-covered aisle leading to a crisp white altar overflowing with blooms. The contrast of black and white carried through perfectly—modern, clean, and undeniably elegant.

Our groom looked sharp in a classic tuxedo while the bride’s lace gown added softness and romance. Even without a crowd, the setting felt deeply emotional—as if guests had just stepped away moments before. It was easy to imagine vows being exchanged there, surrounded by spring air and fresh florals.

Why Editorials Like This Matter

As a New England wedding photographer, days like this are about more than creating beautiful images.

They’re about community. Creativity. Growth. Inspiration.

They challenge us to think differently, refine our craft, and connect with other artists who care deeply about storytelling and design.

To my dear friend Brianna—and to Charity—thank you for dreaming up these elaborate spring editorials year after year. The amount of heart, intention, and artistry you pour into them never goes unnoticed.

I leave each one feeling inspired—and already excited for what you create next.
